This Project:
For my year two Final major project I had many ideas, like short films, trying again with making a trailer and even a podcast roleplay but what I want to show with my project is how much I have improved over the two years on this course, showing the skills I have learned and how I am now putting that knowledge into practice with my work. So, this is why I am going to create a music video. This is going to show the amount I have improved from my very first unit to now. I will be using a story plot to create it and I will be composing an original cover with a singer and a piano player so the whole music to the visuals will be either my own work or work I directed and composed with other forms of talent. Not only will this showcase more of my improvements as a team leader and skills as a director but it will also make it easier to change parts of the song, as it is from a musical and has talking parts within the piece that I do not want within the music video. I am making this video as a separate entity to the musical as I want to add my own meaning to it while still showing the musical meaning. This not only lets me keep my own creative freedom to the plotline while still being able to make references and little easter eggs for the fans of the music and the musical.
This also means the target audience will roughly stay the same as it will be from the musical but it will be showing the most popular problems to them. This will make it more relatable to the audience, feel like a new song with the same feeling as another song they love and it is recognisable to the point where they can all sing along from the get-go.
The video is the original version of the song from the musical. I will be taking out the talking sections and I will also be slightly changing the 'like', 'share', 'comment' part, so it doesn't have the comments relating to directly to the musical itself. They may not be spoken but they will be visually be there. i.e. saying thank you to the main character, as they are female instead of male, in a youtube video. Putting the quotes of the musical on cards. using the song title as a hashtag.

What is my Role & who are my cast and crew?
My roles in this piece is to be the stand-in singer as the singer couldn't make it to the shoots. I also am the main camera person, as I didn't need that many cameras for this piece. Holly Wiegand is going to be my female cover singer, I am going to record the lyrics with her with a metronome at 90BPM, she will be creating them A ccapella. Ian Brown is going to be my audio producer, he will be receiving the lyrics that Holly has recorded and mixing the cover and creating the instrumental aswell. Cat Barns is my lighting person so she was operating the lighting when I need specific lighting. Tom Sparrow, Dylan Murphy, Ralph Ritchie, Dean Watts, KJ Drake, Caitlin Groves and Cat Barns are going to be my side actors, it is a small and simple role of holding cards and looking in to the camera. I am also planning a dance sequence for the instrumental part of the song, rather than the talking, and I will be having to find extras as I want to fill out the screen with more people. I am also going to use flash backs to other projects through my time at college, to simulate the main character thinking back to the good, the bad and the hard times.
